Unique and rare French Art Deco bronze gazelle freestanding mirror with frameless circular mirror accented with pearl-shaped mounts connecting rounded arc bronze support flanked on either side with cast bronze symmetrical elegant stylized resting gazelles with angular composition supported on a rectangular slate plinth base. Inspired by the work of Rembrandt Bugatti (1884-1916), important Italian sculptor of the early 20th century known for his bronze sculptors of exotic animals. Bugatti was inspired by his observation and studying of his subjects at the zoo of the Jardin des Plantes in Paris and the Royal Zoological Gardens in Antwerp. As an introvert his uniqueness was capturing his subjects mute emotions and individuality. His most well known wildlife works were of Panthers, Gazelles, Elephants and Lions often presenting them in pairs in silent communion.
