English Art Deco Japanned corner cabinet with black lacquered chinoiserie design. Two chinoiserie doors with raised ivory accent detail open to reveal mirrored back lighted dry bar; three drawers between two open storage compartments; an Asian bearded wise man figure in a traditional conical hat flank either side of cabinet; elaborate pierced fret apron connecting four square legs. Signed by the artist on front left door. Chinoiserie is the European interpretation of Chinese traditions in decorative arts. It was popular in the 18th century in the work of Francis Boucher (Rococo Louis XV artist) and Thomas Chippendale of England.
