An extraordinary detailed pair of signed lithographs signed, and numbered in upper right hand corner. 189 by C. Klackner, New York. The original artist, Thomas Blinks, was famous for his colorful, intricate detailed hunt scenes that exhibited his keen understanding and knowledge of animal and human anatomy in action. One scene captures all the drama and excitement of the "First Jump", as a handsomely dressed horseman on a white horse successfully attempts the jump, while another falls short. The colorful English countryside with rest of huntsmen create the exciting background. The second scene, "In the Brush", shows a female sitting side-saddle on a brown horse in full motion as she makes the jump following after the gentleman hunter. The loyal hunting dog stands by. The charming pair of hunt scenes illustrates Blink's talent for capturing human and animal form in action, for which he gained much fame. Lower right hand corner, T. Blinks 94.
